the Thriving Rhododendron

These photos are from the property that I grew up on.

This is the Thriving Rhododendron.

For most of the year, the bush looks like this.

But generally, starting in May, we see it transform to something a little more like this.

The flowers start to pop out.

Drinking up sunlight, and displaying its magnificent purplish/pink flowers.

It stretches its limbs.

With consistent sunlight and moderate temperature, the flower fully open.

A friend takes notice.

He is here to work!

Taking photos is one of many ways
to "have an excuse" to spend time outside.
